REALTOR® MEMBERS

Who is a REALTOR®?
A real estate agent becomes a REALTOR® when the agent joins the local Association as well as the California Association of REALTORS® and National Association of REALTORS®. The National Association of REALTORS®, The Voice for Real Estate® is the world’s largest professional association.

How do I become a REALTOR® Member?
If you are a licensed Broker or Agent and you intend to join the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), California Association of REALTORS® (C.A.R.), and the Bridge Association of REALTORS®, you must join all three associations at the same time.

  • If you are an Agent, your Broker must be an active member of the Bridge Association of REALTORS® in order for you to apply for membership. Your Broker’s signature is required on the membership application form. Click here to see where your broker is a member.

  • Apply for REALTOR® Membership along with a copy of your original DRE license and a photo ID (Driver’s License or Passport). You must use your name as it appears on your California Department of Real Estate (DRE) license for all membership information submitted to C.A.R., NAR, and bridgeMLS. If you would like a different name to appear on our records, you must make the change with the DRE.

  • Designated REALTOR®, MLS Broker, and Appraiser Participant applicants must provide the local association with a list of licensees employed by or affiliated with them and must also regularly update the local Association on any changes, additions, or deletions from the list. List all licensees under your license, including their name, the type of license, and their DRE or OREA License number. All affiliated licensees must become a REALTOR® Member, a Non-Member Salesperson (NMSP) or a Limited Function Referral Office Agent (LFRO). Learn more about the variable dues formula here.

  • Primary and Secondary Membership. You will join as either a primary or secondary member. If you are not currently a member of another association where you are paying your NAR and C.A.R. dues, you are a primary member. Refer to the primary member fee worksheet for membership fees. If you are currently a member of another association and are paying your NAR and C.A.R. dues through that association, you will join the Bridge Association of REALTORS® as a secondary member. Refer to the secondary member fee worksheet for membership fees. Political Survival is an optional contribution. All fees must be paid in full at the time you join.

  • REALTOR® Membership at another association. If you are a primary member with the Bridge Association of REALTORS® and would like to join another association as a secondary member, please email staff@bridgeaor.org for a letter of good standing.
