Supra is sharing two upcoming actions that will affect keyholders with older eKEY® app versions and 3G-based devices.

  1. Effective December 31, 2021, Supra will be shutting down an earlier generation eKEY server. Because this server supports the oldest versions of the eKEY app, it is important that all keyholders confirm that they have the latest version of the eKEY app. Our systems show that some keyholders still using an old eKEY app are doing so on an older device. Their devices use legacy technology and operating systems and thus are unable to support upgrading to the current eKEY app. As a result, we are letting you know that likely a small percent of eKEY users will need to upgrade their device to install the current eKEY app. Please know that we will attempt to directly contact keyholders that are affected by the upcoming eKEY server shut-down and advise them to update to the current eKEY app version. View the letter to keyholders at this link.

  1. Beginning in January of 2022, cellular providers will begin turning off their 3G networks*. They are taking this step because as technology evolves and improves, they remove older services. For eKEY users that are using older devices, we suggest that they check with their cellular provider to determine if their phone requires a 3G network to function.

What do keyholders need to run the current eKEY app? Keyholders should confirm that their device, operating system, and eKEY app meet minimum requirements. Detailed guidance is in this document. Please share this important information with your keyholders.

November 2021

The way the local REALTOR® association saw it, the proposed legislation giving tenants in Berkeley, California the rights of first offer and first refusal when a landlord seeks to sell a rental property would be devastating – not only to private property rights and to the local housing market, but as the likely catalyst of a chain reaction throughout the state and across the nation. They also understood that it would disproportionately harm people of color who have owned multi-unit properties in historically segregated areas of the city for generations. Taking no chances, the Bridge Association of REALTORS® used several REALTOR® Party resources to assess the risks of a Tenant Opportunity to Purchase ordinance and prevent its passage.
