The first Earth Day, 50 years ago on April 22, 1970, is often considered the beginning of the Environmental Movement, when 20 million Americans (then 10% of the population) came together in mass rallies across the country to demonstrate for a healthy, sustainable environment.
While we cant gather in person this year, here is a link to 50 options for classes, virtual tours, and great ideas for stay-at-home projects for the whole family, one for each year Earth Day that has existed.

Plant a tree, a fruit tree or native, not an ornamental. Trees are the lungs of our environment.
Do you know: native trees support hundreds of types of insect larvae, which in turn support vast numbers of birds. Native plants require less water and are more disease resistant than ornamentals, and support significantly more wildlife. Take a walk, breathe deeply and really notice whats in bloom around you!
